Haven J. Barlow, DATC Founder, Former Utah Senator and major Contributor
“My vision for the applied technology centers was to provide flexible skill training leading to long-term employment stability,” says Haven Barlow, major contributor, DATC founder, and former Utah Senator.
While serving as a representative and senator, Haven sponsored legislation that revolutionized the Utah education landscape. His final quest in education was to create the Davis and Ogden-Weber Applied Technology Centers. Over the years, his interest in helping individuals develop employable skills led to the construction of the Haven J. and Bonnie Rae Barlow building on the DATC campus. This building houses the CNC machining, Diesel/Heavy Duty Technology, Digital Media Design, and Architectural and Engineering Design programs. Haven has donated money and countless hours toward the success of the Davis Applied Technology College and is the consummate fundraiser.
